[Software Description] This software will update the LinkStation firmware to version 1.70. If your unit's firmware is already version 1.70 or later, you do not need this update. Note: If your LinkStation is in EM mode, this firmware update might recover it. [How to Verify the Firmware Version] Select your LinkStation from the NAS Navigator2. The firmware version is displayed on the bottom right corner of the window. If the hostname contains "EM", the LinkStation is in emergency mode. [Notes] • After this firmware update, EXT3-formatted USB drives will be rendered read-only. • Please consult technical support or your local customer service representative if the firmware update causes unexpected problems. • Do not turn the unit off until the update is finished. The update takes several minutes. • Newer LinkStation firmwares may cause the following message to appear in NAS Navigator2: "I52:Unknown error occurred" If this message appears, update NAS Navigator2 to the latest version. [How to Update the Firmware] 1. Download the firmware update file. 2. Double-click the downloaded file to extract it. 3. Execute the "update" file and follow the instructions on the screen.
