Which environment is the domain available?

The domain is available under the following environment:
- Windows NT4.0 Domain
- Windows 2000 mixed (default)
- Windows 2000 Native
- Windows Server 2003 interim
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows Server 2008

What is the maximum number of users that the TeraStatation can obtain in from the Domain Controller?

The TeraStation can obtain up to 1000 domain users.
The order of the domain users/groups is the same order of SID.

Can I select any users from 1500 domain users and obtain these users?

No. You cannot select any 1000 users obtained from PDC with domain logon feature.
If you would like to set up the access control per user, please use workgroup setting
rather than domain settings, and register users you would like to set
the access restrictions manually.

Are there any other restrictions when obtain users?

Yes, you cannot obtain a domain user/group from the domain controller if:
- The same user name/group name already exists as a local user/group.
- It has the account name which prohibited registering as a local user/group.

Is the user list obtained automatically updated?

No. It is not updated automatically or regularly synchronized the list with the domain controller.
The list is updated in the following situation.
The domain user list is updated when:
- Setting to join the domain
- Clicking the [Shared folder management] in the browser management screen
- Clicking [User management] in the browser management screen

The domain user list is updated when:
- Setting TeraStation up to join the domain
- Clicking the [Shared folder management] in the browser management screen
- Clicking [User management] in the browser management screen

Do I have to enter ".com" or ".local" when I enter the domain name?

No, you do not have to enter “.com” or “.local.”
Please enter the domain name that exclude “.co.jp” or “.local” (Enter up to . (dot) ).

Is there any restriction when using FTP connection?

If you are using FTP connection, you cannot authenticate any domain user.

Can users other than a domain user access?

While authentication method is set to “NT domain” or “Active Directory” domain, the following authentication does not work:
- Local user *1
- Any user whose account is not registered in the domain controller.
- Guest user if that user is using an AppleTalk connection.
- Anonymous for the FTP connection.

Note: If you want to allow these account above to access, Set the “guest” account “Enable” at the domain controller.
- If user name/password is required when access after setting the above, Enter guest as a user name and leave the password blank.
- Please use extra caution when you use above settings since it will degrade your security.

Can I use the unit in the domain with the trusted relationship is established?

Domain logon feature is only tested under the single domain environment.
It may not function correctly in the multiple domains environments (in any environment that include multiple DC or PDC).
